Every gingerbread house is freshly made to order. Production times depend on the size of the house:

• Small & Medium Gingerbread Houses: approximately 3-4 days, including drying time.

• Large Gingerbread Houses: approximately 6-7 days, including drying time.

• Extra Large Gingerbread Houses: approximately 10 days, including drying time.

Production times may be longer during the busy Christmas and holiday season, so we recommend ordering early.

Yes! The Gingerbread Factory creates custom gingerbread houses for homes, businesses, cabins, churches, weddings, events, gifts, and other special projects. Our decorating team can work with you to create a unique gingerbread house based on your idea, theme, or building.

Please allow extra time for designing your custom house, holiday custom house orders must be placed by the end of August.

Custom gingerbread house orders should be placed at least ten weeks in advance. Christmas custom orders require even more advance planning. Some holiday projects may begin being scheduled as early as January and no later than August for the following Christmas season.

Cover your gingerbread house and store it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and humidity. Avoid refrigeration because moisture can soften the gingerbread, icing, and decorations.

You can spray your Gingerbread House with clear non-water-soluble polyurethane spray or a clear spay lacquer. Please note gingerbread house will not be edible.

When kept in a cool, dry environment, your gingerbread house can remain beautiful throughout the holiday season. If you plan to eat your gingerbread house, we recommend leaving it sealed and enjoying it within a few weeks of receiving it for the best flavor and freshness. When unwrapped your house will began to harden, but is still edible. Dunk in your favorite beverage to enjoy.

Remember that production time is separate from shipping time. Customers ordering for Christmas, weddings, parties, events, or gifts should allow enough time for both production and delivery. Expedited shipping may be available for an additional charge.

Yes. The Gingerbread Factory ships gingerbread houses throughout the United States. Ground shipping is included for qualifying orders within the lower 48 states.

We carefully package every gingerbread house to help protect it during shipping.

If your gingerbread house arrives damaged, contact us as soon as possible and include photos of both the gingerbread house and the shipping packaging. Our team will review the issue and help make it right.

Order as early as possible. Gingerbread Factory gingerbread houses are especially popular during the Christmas season and may sell out.

Holiday production and shipping schedules can fill quickly, so ordering early gives you the best chance of receiving your gingerbread house when you need it.

Custom Christmas gingerbread houses should be ordered well in advance because they require additional design and production time.

You can still place your order, but orders submitted after the recommended deadline may not arrive by your desired holiday or delivery date.

If you want to preserve your gingerbread house as a decoration rather than eat it, you can seal it with a clear protective coating. Once sealed, the gingerbread house is no longer edible and should be used for display only.

First, allow the gingerbread house and icing to dry completely. Then apply several light coats of a clear acrylic spray or other craft-safe clear sealant, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. Be sure to coat the roof, walls, decorations, and any exposed gingerbread.

For the best results, keep the preserved gingerbread house in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. A covered display case or container can also help protect it from dust, moisture, and pests.

Important: Clearly label the house “For Display Only Do Not Eat” after applying any sealant.
